Ernst Neizvestny. Return to the Manezh: Exhibition in Honor of the 90th Anniversary of the World Renowned Sculptor

On January 5, 2016 at the Central Manezh Exhibition Hall (1 Manezh Square, Moscow) the art collector Felix Komarov presents an exhibition “Ernst Neizvestny. Return to the Manezh” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the distinguished sculptor, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Ernst Neizvestny featuring over one hundred works by the master from his collection.

On display are more than 20 sculptures of the 1960s-2000s including the sculptor’s monumental pieces rare for private collections. The viewers will see two variations of the partly autobiographical work “Orpheus”, one of the many options of the artist’s favorite image “Centaur”, The New Statue of Liberty sculpture planned to be placed in Taiwan, one of the most mysterious master’s creations “Bertran de Born”, his sculptural portraits and many other art pieces. Of major interest are 50 paintings and 60 graphic works by Ernst Neizvestny, theses are his drawings, engravings and lithographs.

The exhibition will be accompanied by the vast information material: rare photographs from Felix Komarov’s archives, the Sverdlovsk Regional Museum and the sculptor’s family; documentary films: “The Bronze Age of Ernst Neizvestny” presented by TV Channel Russia-1 and “I Trust My Insanity” presented by Ostankino TV Company.
