Post-graduate study

The Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts offers postgraduate programs on Specialty (state code 17 00 04): Fine Arts, Decorative and Applied Art, Architecture.

 

The postgraduate education involves a three year full-time tuition and four year tuition by correspondence for graduates of higher education institutes. There is also an opportunity for seekers of advanced degrees and qualifications. The education is free, no campus or dormitory is provided. 

 

In accordance with Order N798-746/18 of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Education and Science dated April 20, 2007 the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts is entitled to confer degrees as follows:

Candidate of Art History

will be granted to graduates of the three year full-time study program and graduates of the four year study program by correspondence upon the defense of  their theses.  The postgraduates who do not defend theses receive a Certificate of Postgraduate Study;

Doctor of Art History

will be granted to Candidates of Art History upon the defense of their doctoral theses.

 

Documents are admitted annually from May 15 to September 15.

Documentation Requirements:

·        Application Form

·        Copy of  diploma of a higher education institute

·        Completed questionnaire

·        List of published works (if available)

·        Summary of the proposed thesis theme (40000 signs) 

 

After the documents are submitted, the applicants shall pass through the exams on

specialty, philosophy and foreign language.
