The Creative Workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts is a higher stage of the three-level system of the academic art education in Russia. Initiated by the distinguished Russian masters of the 20th century, they were set up in 1947 to offer an opportunity for gifted young artists-graduates of art schools and institutes to improve their skills in painting, graphic art, sculpture, theater design and architecture. The Creative Workshops are efficient laboratories to experiment in various techniques and materials, to study the experience of recognized masters. The annual exhibitions of their graduates and trainees are an excellent start for their future careers.
