Monument to Sergei Esenin by Sculptor Anatoli Bichukov Was Unveiled in Konstantinovo

     The unveiling ceremony for the monument to poet Sergei Esenin sculptured by the People’s Artist of Russia, winner of M. Sholokhov and  S. Esenin prizes Anatoli Bichukov took place in the poet’s birthplace - the village of Konstantinovo, Ryazan region on October 7, 2007.  The festivities were dedicated to the 112th anniversary of  Sergei Esenin’s birth. Anatoli Bichukov’s two other monuments to Sergei Esenin have been placed in Moscow in Tverskoi Boulevard and Vagankovskoye cemetery. His monuments to the celebrated Russian poet can be also seen in Voronezh (Russia), Serbia and many galleries in other countries.
     The Governor of the Ryazan region George Shpak who was among the attendees of the ceremony has noted, that the monument in the village of Konstantinovo, where the poet was born, is an expression of true love for his poetry and a profound respect for his memory.
