Young artists working in different art techniques have been offered to analyze their attitude to the events of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), as well as to experience them basing not only on books and films about the War, but trying to understand the situation at the very beginning of the terrible tragedy. The task was to depict images that occur when you think about the War, which affected the fate of millions of people. The focus of the exhibition is a Man. The artist must stand on the side of the Man.

The participants of the project are young artists, graduates of V. Surikov Moscow Art Institute, recognized masters whose works formed a core of the exhibition conceptual structure. Of major interest is a triptych by Konstantin Khudyakov “The Cherry Tree of 1945” (from the collection of Alexander Sploshnov) to be exhibited since 30 years from its creation. The recent works include an installation by Ivan Kolesnikov and Sergey Denisov, an artwork of Igor Sever on the subject of militarism.
