The Russian Academy of Arts presents works of Russian foremost and internationally recognized masters of sculpture showcasing today’s trends and high level of contemporary sculpture art. This major exhibition features more than 200 easel and monumental sculptures created by the “colossus of contemporary sculpture” Zurab Tsereteli and members of the Sculpture Department of the Russian Academy of Arts in the late 20th – early 21st century.
The cultural “polyphony” of the creative work is one of the main features of these days. The Academy’s masters work in all types and genres of sculpture – portrait, historical, animalistic, landscape. The extraordinary body of work on display includes sculptures that draw on history, our world’s past, present and future. Of major interest are works on religious themes. The variety of materials - bronze and marble, wood and stone metal and glass, composite and innovative materials - captures the imagination of the public. The exhibition is a perfect proof of the diversity of the plastic language and a significant event in the cultural life in Moscow.
