The World of My Heart: Exhibition of the Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Anna Ryndina

The Foundation for Support to Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage named after the Reverend Andrew Rublev, as well as Andrew Rublev Central Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art in partnership with the Russian Academy of Arts present a solo show of Prof. Anna Ryndina, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Doctor of Art History, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Head of the Coordinating Council of the Foundation named after the Reverend Andrew Rublev.

The World of My Heart exhibition features paintings, sketches of theatrical costumes and decorations produced by Anna Ryndina in the 1960-s, 1970-s and 1980-s.

Anna Ryndina was born on May 23, 1937 in Moscow in the family of the People’s Artist of the USSR, Academician and Professor Vadim F. Ryndin. In 1959 she graduated fr om the Moscow State University wh ere she majored in the history of  arts. Since 1992 Anna Ryndina has been heading the Department of Old Russian and Religious Art of the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts. The main directions of her researches are old Russian sculpture and icon painting, modern religious art, urgent problems of the Christian unity in the Eastern and Western religious art.

As a theatrical artist Anna Ryndina has created decorations and costumes for the Jean-Baptiste Moliere’s “The Bourgeois Gentleman” (Boris Schukin Theatrical Institute at the Evgeny Vakhtangov State Theater, 1961), sketches of costumes for the play “Madame Bovary” (the State Maly Theater, 1963), sketches of costumes for Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Don Carlos” (the State Bolshoi Theater, 1964), decorations and costumes for Carl Maria von Weber’s ballet “The Spirit of the Rose” (the State Bolshoi Theater, 1966), sketches of costumes for Boris Asafyev’s ballet “The Fountain of Bakhchisaray” and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker” (The National Opera of Cairo, 1966-1967) and many others.
