Exhibition of Works by the Honored Artist of Russia Rustam Yaushev, Olga Yausheva and Zeinab Yausheva (1906-1968) at the Russian Academy of Arts

The Russian Academy of Arts, the Cultural and Enlightenment Center “Orden” and Bureau of Creative Expeditions present an exhibition of works by the Honored Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, noted graphic artist Rustam Yaushev, his mother and artist Zeinab Yausheva (1906-1968), his daughter, graduate of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute Olga Yausheva. On show are almost 250 paintings and graphic works of various years: portraits, landscapes, still lifes.

Rustam Yaushev was born in Tashkent in 1937. He is a graduate of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute (1959-1964) where he studied under such masters of graphic art as Nickolai Ponomarev and Oleg Savostyuk. Since 1964 he has been a Member of the USSR Union of Artists, participant of Moscow, All-Russian and international exhibitions. Rustam Yaushev worked as a painter and graphic artist remaining true to his love of Kamchatka region where he lived for some years in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Since 1970-1974 Rustam Yaushev upgraded his skills in graphic techniques at the creative graphic workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts under the distinguished artist E.A. Kibrik. He mastered the techniques of art printing, in particular, etching.

For all his life Rustam Yaushev has been an ardent traveler, during the last decades in partnership with the Bureau of Creative Expeditions he has visited many countries of Europe, Asia, America and Africa. On display are his series “Spain”, “Paris”, “Greece. Mount Athos”, “Indonesia” and others.

In 1993-1996 Rustam Yaushev was a rector of the Krasnoyarsk Art Institute and since 2007 has been working as a teacher at the Chair of Graphic Art in the Moscow Teachers’ Training University. His works are in collections of 26 museums in Russia and other countries, as well as in private collections in Japan, China, Turkey, France, U.S.A.
