The exhibition features works by the People’s Artist of the USSR, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAA) Yury Kugach (1917-2013) and his pupils: Mikhail Gugach, Ivan Kugach, Ekaterina Kugach, Olga Demidenko, Wardman John Henry V, Ksenia Lebedeva, Boris Petrenko, Victoria Samsonova, Olga Svetlichnaya, Vladimir Philippov, Dmitry Hokhlin, Ilya Yatsenko.

The exhibition dedicated to Yury Kugach, a distinguished master of realistic school of painting, a brilliant colorist perfectly depicting the beauty of his native land includes the artist’s 50 landscapes created mostly in the 1990s-2000-s from the family collection. All the members of the talented dynasty of artists – his wife Olga Svetlichnaya (1915-1997), their son Academician of the RAA Mikhail Kugach and grandchildren Ivan and Ekaterina are graduates of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute and perfected their skills on location. Mikhail Kugach lives and works mostly in the Tver region on the river Mste near I. Repin Academic Dacha. Russian nature and surrounding people are the main theme of his works.
