Exhibition of Works by Members of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts

The State Museum of Contemporary Art of the Russian Academy of Arts presents a major exhibition of works by leading masters of Russian fine arts – Academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts. The show features over 200 works representing painting, graphic art, sculpture, decorative and applied arts, design and architecture and showcasing the diversity of trends and styles in today’s art.

The painting section includes canvases by Zurab Tsereteli, Tair Salakhov, Boris Messerer, Tatyana Nazarenko, Albina Akritas, Dmitry Zhilinsky, Konstantin Khudyakov, Sergey Ossovsky and many other internationally recognized artists. Throughout their careers Eugene Maximov, Nickolai Mukhin, Vasily Nesterenko known for their work on interior restoration of Orthodox churches and cathedrals in Russia and other countries have created many remarkable canvases on religious and Biblical topics which can be seen at the exhibition.  

On display are pictures, drawings and watercolors of the most successful graphic artists Alexey Shmarinov, Anatoly Lyubavin, Victor Glukhov, Lev Shepelev (1937-2013), Victor Kalinin.  The sculpture section presents plastic arts, models of monuments by such renowned masters as Alexander Rukavishnikov, Zurab Tsereteli, Anatoly Bichukov, Alexander Burganov, Andrey Kovalchuk and others.
Academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts have been actively involved in the formation of the architectural image of many Russian cities. Of big interest are major projects by Mikhail Posokhin and Yury Platinov executed in Moscow.

The exhibition proves the viability and high standards of the Russian academic art school, serving as a perfect basis for further development of Russian art.
