The Russian Academy Of Arts

Organized by the Russian Academy of Arts, the Department of Culture and Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Vologda Region, V.N. Korbakov Charitable Foundation to mark the 90th anniversary the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Vladimir Korbakov, the exhibition presents a major retrospective of the artist’s works.

The life of Vladimir Korbakov, a recognized master of Russian painting, has been closely connected with his native Vologda land. The artist has been working in all the types of fine arts. On display at the Russian academy of Arts are over 120 works including his landscapes, genre pictures, portraits and self-portraits, still lifes, drawings and sketches. Vladimir Korbakov’s paintings are distinguished by their multi-color palette. “I paint as if I am spreading my heart on the canvas” – says the master who in his advanced years is full of creative energy and continues painting and drawing.

Works by Vladimir Korbakov are in collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, State History Museum, Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War and other museums and private collections.
