The National Gallery of the Komi Republic in Syktyvkar presents a major retrospective of works by Prof. Tatyana Nazarenko, the Honored Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Head of the Easel Painting Workshop of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute.

Tatyana Nazarenko is one of the most distinguished representatives of Russian Fine Arts of the second half of the 20th – early 21st century. In her artworks one can sense a healthy world-view, fun and grief, figurative and plastic complexity, the accuracy of the portrait characterization and boundless fantasy. Her individuality is in the spirituality of her painting combined with an analytic approach. Tatyana Nazarenko introduces something subtle into her works that allows a viewer to feel the anxious atmosphere of our time. The harmony of colors, the dignity of linear rhythms and extraordinaire of compositions give her canvases a special quality.

The exhibition features paintings and objects produced by the artist for the last twenty years. The focus of the display is her 2011 project – The Family Album, where she brought back the memory of the past and breathed new life into old letters, postcards and photographs of her relatives.
