Solo Show of Works by the Moscow Painter Inna Bazhutina in Tsereteli Art Gallery

In paintings of Inna Bazhutina are intricately combined a reality and fantasy, everything connected with her feelings, impressions and recollections. They contain no narrative topic and are rather her philosophical reflections on the sense of existence, confrontation of diverse forces in nature, place of a man in the world.

Inna Bazhutina was born in Moscow, graduated from the University of Art and Design School. For ten years she worked as an artist-restorer at I. Grabar All-Russian Art Research and Restoration Center. Since 1984 Bazhutina has been a frequent exhibitor in Moscow, republican and international shows.

Her decorative, flat, static in their composition paintings remind us of the aesthetics of symbolism and art nouveau. Turning to various artistic traditions Inna Bazhutina is in constant searches of her own style. The restrained color range, where the black color plays a significant role, allows the artist to emphasize an expressive rhythm of a composition, the most characteristic features of her images.

A self-portrait occupies a major place in her works. It gives an idea of the reticence of her inner world, she often prefers to be surrounded only by flowers like in her oil “Evening. Self-Portrait”. On show in Tsereteli Art Gallery are also many still lifes with flowers distinguished by a special game of senses and expressive texture.

Inna Bazhutina’s  images are aimed at intuitive perception, the meaning of her paintings can be interpreted in a different way, but each viewer can feel the artist’s  deep emotions and agitation of her soul.

Inna Bazhutina is represented in art collections in Russia, as well as in private collections both in Russia and other countries.
