Exhibition of Sculptures by Michael Dronov in Naschokin House

On show in Naschokin House are twenty works of various years by the celebrated Moscow sculptor, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Michael Dronov.

 

Michael Dronov was born in 1956 in Moscow in the family of sculptors.  In 1980 he graduated from V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute. Well-known are the sculptor’s monumental works in Moscow, such as his rotunda fountain “A. Pushkin and N. Goncharova” at Nikitskiye Gates created by Dronov in honor of the poet’s 200th anniversary. He has been actively involved in the recreation of the interior decoration of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.  In Amsterdam found its home his sculptural composition Night Watch created in association with A. Taratynov reproducing the famous Rembrandt’s canvas. His works are in collections of major Russian museums.

 

Michael Dronov’s sculptures have been exhibited in many home and international shows. One of the master’s favorite genres is a sculptural still life, where everyday things are animated by his humorous and emotional vision. Dronov’s sculptures  are laconic, full of noble realism and depth of expression.
