Exhibition of Paintings by Grigory Chainikov (1960-2008) in the Russian Academy of Arts

On show at the Russian Academy of Arts are canvases by the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Grigory Chainikov (1960-2008) created by the artist in 1990-2008. 

Grigory Chainikov has devoted his short creative activity to painting the life and countryside of his native land and remained true to realistic traditions of Russian art. The artist was born in the village of Grakhovo in Udmurtia. In 1987, he graduated from V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute. In 1988-1991,  he perfected his skills in painting  under Alexei Tkachev and Sergei Tkachev in the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts and started working at I. Repin House of Creative Work “Academic Dacha”, where he made the majority of his landscapes, genre paintings and portraits. Since 1988 Chainikov was a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia.
