Exhibition of Paintings by the Moscow Artist Dmitry Anikeev in Tsereteli Art Gallery

The first major retrospective of his work, the exhibition features over 70 paintings by the noted Moscow artist Dmitry Anikeev.

Dmitry Anikeev was born in Moscow in 1934. He studied in the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial College (former Stroganoff College). In 1965, Anikeev graduated from the Moscow Printing Institute where his teachers were such masters as I.I. Chekmazov, a pupil of V. Kandinsky; A.D. Goncharov; M.P. Miturich.

In the 1960s Dmitry Anikeev was a frequent exhibitor in Moscow exhibitions. In his paintings of that period  he preferred a freedom of self expression  to following academic canons. Lacking stereotypes of the painting mentality, Anikeev created his individual manner and style.

Since 1996, Dmitry Anikeev has not participated in the exhibition activity. He collaborates with Moscow publishing houses as a book illustrator. Being a free-lance, he  has revealed himself as a designer and illustrated over 1500 editions.

This display in Tsereteli Art Gallery is a result of his creative work of many years.
