Solo Exhibition of Paintings by Valentin Sidorov in the State Tretyakov Gallery

The jubilee retrospective in the Engineering Block of the Tretykov Gallery features over 80 paintings and drawings by Valentin Sidorov, People’s Artist of USSR, Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, Winner of State Prizes of USSR and the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Artists’ Union, President of the International Confederation of Artists’ Unions of CIS. On November 13, 2008 at the opening ceremony for the exhibition Valentin Sidorov was presented with the Order of Francisk Scorina, one of the highest awards of the Republic of Belarus, for his significant role in fostering cultural ties between Russia and Belarus.

The recognized master of landscape who belongs to the generation of the 1960s, Valentin Sidorov is well known in Belarus both as an artist and a personality. His solo exhibitions were more than once held in Minsk and many other Belarussian cities.

On September 15, 2008 through the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Valentine Sidorov, who had recently marked his 80th anniversary, was honored with the Order For Services to Motherland 3rd Rank.
