Tsereteli Art Gallery Presents Canvases By Oleg Leonov

On September 4, 2008 Tsereteli Art Gallery presents a display of portraits, genre paintings and landscapes by Honored Artist of Russia Oleg Leonov.  A graduate of V. Surikov State Academy Art Institute and follower of traditions of Russian realism, since 1988 Leonov has been a frequent exhibitor in home and international exhibitions.  His solo exhibitions were held in Moscow Maly Manezh, Art Gallery on Solyanka street, in the halls of the Council of Federation.

The artist works in the V. Vereschagin Studio of Artists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.  For his paintings at the exhibition “On the Watch of Motherland and Law” Oleg Leonov was honored with a diploma and a medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, for his contribution to the portrait gallery of the Ministry of Internal Affairs he was awarded a diploma of this Ministry.

On display are genre paintings depicting today’s hard and often dangerous service of soldiers and officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.  The determined and courageous characters of Leonov’s portraits arouse a feeling of deep respect for people who devoted themselves to protection of the country and its citizens.
