Works by Alexander Elkin Are on Show in the Russian Academy of Arts

On July 22, 2008 the Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of works by Alexander Elkin in its exhibition halls, 21 Prechistenka street, Moscow. An adviser to the Mayor of Moscow, Winner of Lenin Prize and three Prizes of the Russian Government, creator of space vehicles, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Alexander Elkin is an extraordinary personality.  Considered an authority as a scientist and public figure, Elkin is keen on painting.

In 1948 he graduated from the high art-industrial school (former Stroganov Art College) in Moscow. Alexander Elkin paints mainly in oil in an absolutely original manner – not by paintbrush, but by fingers. His works are distinguished by his special comprehension of a canvas as a carrier of the artist’s information possessing an energy field. Elkin is confident that the energy is transmitted to the viewer and affects him selectively and purposefully. Elkin’s works are emotional, dynamic and expressive.

The exhibition  also features works by his son Alexander Risovalov, a member of  the Creative Union of Professional Artists. He has invented his own system, when each word has a pictorial image. In November 2007, Alexander Risovalov participated in the 56th World Salon of Innovations, Researches and New Technologies (Brussels – Eureka 2007) where he was awarded a medal and a diploma.
