Exhibition of Summer Practice Works by Students of I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture

     On display in Parade halls of the Russian Academy of Arts Museum in St. Petersburg are summer practice works by students of I. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
     The annual exhibition features works by first – five year students of all units of I. Repin Institute as well as senior students of B. Ioganson St. Petersburg State Academy Art Lyceum. Summer practice is an integral part of the teaching process and includes copying and plain-air studies.
     The paintings, landscapes, architectural plans have been executed both in traditional places of summer practice in Pushkin Hills and Alupka, as well as in other cities of Russia: Pskov; Kronstadt, Kingisepp, Mozhaisk, Arkhangelsk, Great Ustyug. Future restorers practiced in workshops of the Russian Museum, Hermitage, Central Restoration Workshops in Moscow. Sculptors studied work in St. Petersburg foundry “Casting Yard”. Practical training for students of theatrical and decorative art faculty took place in the workshops of Mariinsky Theatre and G. Tovstonogov Drama Theatre.  The basic facilities for summer practice included I. Repin Institute’s ceramic, mosaic and moulding workshops. 

     Visitors can see about 500 works of painting, graphic art and sculpture by three hundred young artists which have become their first experiences in creativity and freedom of self expression.
