Traveling Exhibition of Works by Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Edward Drobitski in Lipetsk

     The Lipetsk Regional Exhibition Hall offers a traveling solo exhibition of works by Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of Russia, one of the most celebrated modern artists Edward Drobitski.  The exposition in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Arts comprises the artist’s 190 paintings, drawings, sculptures, posters.
     In the  1950-1960s Edward Drobitski was one of the  indisputable leaders of the Russian underground art. Then, having been elected a Chairman of the Moscow Joint Committee of Graphic Artists,  he headed a creative entity which brought the  informal art out of underground. Drobitski was an active participant and organizers of avant-garde and nonconformist exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Now, the officially recognized master, winner of the State and international prizes, participant of numerous competitions and exhibitions continues to surprise us with his constant creative searches, experiments and innovations.
     The exhibition has come to Lipetsk from the Urals city of Magnitogorsk.  In two last years,  it was exhibited in many cities and regions of Russia. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of Lipetsk region Administration Luidmilla Kurakova.  The Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Professor Andrei Bobykin told the attendees about the artist’s creative work.
